Apple IOS 8.0.1 flop, 8.0.2 redemption

IOS 8.0.1 flop 8.0.2 redemption

Just imagine after buying your IPhone 6 or IPhone 6 plus and updating it. Your phone can not connect to cellular network to make calls or the Touch ID fingerprint sensor stops working. (Means you can’t unlock your phone.)

Yep!! That’s what happened with release of Apples IOS 8.0.1 update. Third-party keyboards wouldn’t stick when activated, zapping of cellular reception, Touch ID ceased working and a few more bugs.

Apple released a statement with the 8.0.2 update:

“iOS 8.0.2 is now available for users, it fixes an issue that affected iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who downloaded iOS 8.0.1, and includes improvements and bug fixes originally in iOS 8.0.1. We apologize for inconveniencing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who were impacted by the bug in iOS 8.0.1.”

The iPhone 6 Plus – Perhaps the best iPhone for seniors – EVER!

Tom Gordon's - iTechGeezer

Kudos to AT&T for under promising, and over delivering. My shiny new iPhone 6 Plus arrived almost three weeks earlier than the original order confirmation said it would.

How do I like it? As Steve Job’s would have said… “magical”

Although it’s huge compared to older iPhones, it is so thin, rounded and lightweight that it doesn’t seem to be so large.

I bought Apple’s leather carry case which is buttery soft yet rugged enough to give you peace of mind in holding the iPhone.

The 5.5″ screen is phenomenal – so sharp, clear and easy to read everything from books to movies.

This iPhone has tricked me several times by making me “think” that I’m using my iPad! It’s that good.

It works with pretty much all my “toys” like my Apple BlueTooth keyboard and my Beats BlueTooth “Pill” wireless speaker system. AirPrint to my HP printer and AirPlay…

iOS 8.0.2 fixes a critical issue where iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who updated to iOS 8.0.1 on Wednesday lost cellular signal and the ability to use Touch ID. It also addresses a HealthKit bug that prevented apps supporting the new APIs to function propery, as well as several other bugs.

Parco del Gran Paradiso, Italia – August 2014

Walk Think Learn

Following Cinque Terre, we headed north towards the Valle d’Aosta, where the Gran Paradiso Park seats. The name says it all: several valleys in the heart of the Italian Alps. We set up our caravan as far as it can get in the valley of Cogne and combine an exploration of the mountains and the surrounding cities.

Two special considerations in this peaceful area. At first, the Rifugio Vittorio Sella dominating the valley at 2588m and offering really nice views both on Valsavarenche and the glaciers around with a really nice walk to get there. Then to the city of Cogne that has known how to manage the big amount of tourists while keeping a deep mountain spirit (and amazing pastries, extra points!).

If life offers you this chance, go and explore Gran Paradiso, as well as as the Aosta Valley. Being a big fan of cheese I recommend Courmayeur…
